Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection And Swollen Tonsils

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Feb 2017
Question: I went to the doctor for a sinus infection on the 19th of December. I was told then that the right side of my tonsils were swollen. w
When I asked why, He said that he didn't know. I was given a sulfer based antibiotic and a steroid. Two weeks later, I have a sore tounge and go in because I'm miserable. I think I did some damage with my tooth brush since I now have sores inside both my upper and lower lips. I was told that I didn't have thrush ( as far as the doctor knew - he didn't speak English well and it was hard to understand him ) though they did find spots on my tonsils. Tested negative for Strep. My tounge is sore and burns and it hurts to talk. It also feels swollen - especially when I first wake up. Doctor gave me a mouthwash that was supposed to help but, it just burns and the numbness doesn't last long. I'm Hypoglycemic so I need to eat but can't much right now. I had also scrubbed my tounge with the tooth brush so maybe I hurt it as well ? My nose is also stuffy and I was told that I had an mucus membrane infection but was given no antibiotics..... HELP - I'm miserable!

Actually, I ended up being admitted into the local hospital for 2 days after I contacted you. It turned out to be glossitis and I was pretty ill. I'm still trying to recover and it hasn't been easy. I haven't worked all week ( was released from the hospital on Tuesday) and am still tired. I hope to be back at work tomorrow night.
