Question: Hello,

I have fungal infection. My dermatologist prescribed following to me :

Sporanox CAP - 2 tab for 4 days
propyzole cream
KZ soap
Wysolone 10 mg - 2 tab/day for 2 weeks

In one of the med chat forum, I found very bad effects of wysolone because of its steroid content.

Brief Answer:
Avoid steroid in fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

I read history and got that you have fungal infection ..may be tinea corporis, tinea cruris.... Itroconazole prescribed is very good antifungal capsule and might give good result. But, your doctor has prescribed prednisolone 20 mg daily, why.. You discuss with him.

If the disease is really and only fungal skin disease, then there is no need to take oral steroid. Steroid might worsen the condition. And the chances of relapses are increased. One should keep in mind about the side effects of steroid...right? At this moment, no need to discuss about side effects.

Kindly avoid steroid after consulting your dermatologist...ok

Thanks.
