default
Posted on Tue, 12 Apr 2016
Question: My doctor prescribed levocitrizine 5mg daily and 50mg hydroxyzine at bedtime as well as 2 other antihistamines for severe itching of legs and arms. Itching alleviated but last night knees, ankles and wrists swelled, extreme dull pain all over especially arms, knees and back
Indications on both levo and hydroxyzine say don't take one with the other
Drinking lots of water to flush system and moving stiffly, stopping use but anything else I should do?

Brief Answer:
Nothing else needs to be done. Stop the drug only!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this mix up with drugs. There is nothing much that needs to be done after stopping the drug. Only consult your doctor to inform him of this development and he may probably want to justify why he did so or propose a substitute. There is no need to be too scared....All will be okay!

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
