Question: Dear Doctor, I have phlegm in my throat leading to throat pain. I am also having body pains. Request
to suggest some medication.

Betadine Gargling.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting the query.

The sore throat could be due to acute pharyngitis.
I treat such patients in my practice with following guidelines:

1) Betadine throat gargling: Mix 1 part of Betadine solution with 2 portion of warm water and gargle for two times a day.

2) You can take Tab: Combiflam or Sumoflam 1 tablet twice a day for 3 days.

If still the symptoms persists then you should be put on an antibiotic. Usually i prescribe Amoxclav 625mg. This needs a prescription.
