Suggest Treatment For Severe Swelling Above Ankle After A Fall
Question: I had a bad fall on some ice. I have pretty severe swelling in the lower third of my leg (slightly above ankle on the outside). I can not bear any weight on it. After 800 mg of advil and ice plus elevation it is quite swollen and painful over two hours later. It's definitely not a twisted ankle. It's along the IT band. I can move the ankle joint both back and forward but it is quite sore. I think I might have a lateral fracture of the fibia. Thoughts?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.Going by the description of injury it is must to rule out fracture of ankle by getting Xray done.
Meanwhile take rest and do not put weight on that limb.If possible send the picture of ankle.
Looking forward to your reply.
Take care
