Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain And Loose Stool

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: Yesterday I woke up with severe pain in my lower right back, so bad that I had to pick my leg up to get into the car. I had 2 episodes of loose stool, which is very uncommon for me! I made it through the day and when I woke up this morning the pain has moved to the front in my lower abdomen. I have not been nauseated, or thrown up. I have had a complete hysterectomy including ovaries. Thoughts???

Brief Answer:
Please consult GP/Surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I appreciate your concerns.

Since you have already removed your Uterus and Ovaries, the pain is not related to gynec diseases.

Do you still have pain in the lower back? Do you still have problem in moving the leg? If so then it is probably muscle sprain with pain radiating to the front.

It could be cramps due to indigestion. In that case the pain subsides with
a tablet of Buscopan ( Hyoscine butyl bromide). If the pain does not disappear then the other possible reasons for this pain are:
1. Infection of appendix
2. Stone in the ureter
3. Infection of urinary bladder- In this case you will also experience pain/burning during urination
4. Irritable bowel syndrome- The exact cause for this is not clear.
5. Inflammatory bowel disease like crohn's disease

You need to be examined by GP or surgeon.

I hope this is helpful.
If you have any further concerns I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
