Question: I JUMPED OFF THE BACK OF A PICKUP A WEEK AGO AND EXPERIENCED A SEVERE PAIN IN MY LEFT LEG. I WAS ABLE TO WALK AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND IT WAS APPARENT THAT I DIDN'T BREAK MY LEG. I LANDED ON MY FOOT, BUT IT WAS SLIGHTLY ASKEW. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A CONTINUAL ACHE IN THE BACK OF MY LEG SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE KNEE CAP AREA, BUT ON THE BACK OF THE LEG. IT IS ESPECIALLY TENDER AFTER SITTING, WHICH I DO A LOT OF SINCE I DO ACCOUNTING. I HAVE BEEN TAKING 800 MG IBUPROFEN FOR ABOUT A WEEK, 3 TIMES DAILY WITHOUT MUCH RELIEF.

Brief Answer:
You may have nerve compression in spine or pulled muscle

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and you might be having either nerve compression in back or pulled muscle. To confirm this I would like to know little detail of the illness.
1. Can you describe pain , is it muscular or pin and needle like ?
2.Do you have pain on walking or also on rest?
3. Does your pain also have tingling and numbness?
please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks

THE PAIN IS MORE OF A MUSCULAR ACHE. IT SEEMS TO BE BETTER WHEN I AM WALKING ACTUALLY. SITTING AGGREVATES IT.
I DO NOT HAVE ANY TINGLING OR NUMBNESS.

WHEN I SUMPED OFF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK AND LANDED IT WAS LIKE A LIGHTING BOLT GOING THROUGH ME. THE PAIN WAS HORRENDOUS. IT SUBSIDED AFTER A FEW MINUTES LEAVING MY LEG ( THE BACK AREA OF THE LOWER THIGH) VERY SORE, TENDER AND NOW ACHY. IT ACHES ALL THE TIME. I HAVE BEEN TO MY ORTHO DOC FOR MY RIGHT KNEE WHICH I HAD A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT IN, 14 MONTHS AGO. I DIDN'T EVEN THINK WHEN I WENT TO GET OFF OF THE TRUCK UNTIL I WAS IN MID AIR AND REALIZED I COULD NOT LAND ON MY RIGHT FOOT, SO ALL THE WEIGHT WENT ON MY LEFT FOOT. NO FOOT OR ANKLE PAIN, JUST A HORRENDOUS PAIN IN THE LEG.

Brief Answer:
This is a pulled hamstring

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for such detail reply. I believe it is pulled hamstring and it is causing you such pain. I would suggest you following.
1.Bed rest with minimal walking for next two weeks.
2.Do not sit on floor or cross legged.
3.Hot water fomentation and volini gel local application.
4.Tablet Myospaz or Myoril one daily.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you.If your pain is persisting then you will need to show it to a sports medicine expert. You might need MRI of the hamstrings.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
