Suggest Treatment For Severe Joint Pain In An Elderly Person

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016
Question: I was taking Norvac for no longer than a month. It made all my joints hurt so I tried to reach my doctor and was not able to reach her. So I stopped taking the medicine that day. What kind of effects will that have on my body? I am 86 currently and in very good health. I only now have pain in my feet and they are stiff and don't bend as they use to. It was about 3 years ago that I stopped taking the norvac.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care only

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. I can see benicar and hydrochlorothiazide in your medication list. So no worries if you are using them. Norvasc is just as effective as these two. So no worries if you skipped norvasc and started these two. The aim is to control the blood pressure no matter which medications we choose.

I would strongly suggest take blood pressure reading and medications regularly . As far as pain is concerned, no doubt with aging, pain is inevitable and supportive care with pain killers and knowing one's limitations for the age are the best measures and should be continued as per need basis. Keep doing the exercises, frequently stretch as much as you can comfortably, do physio exercises, use warm comfortable non pitting bed to sleep on. Use range of mobility exercises on stiffer feet.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
