Brief Answer:
Better to get done chest x ray and PFT.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Cough with white expectoration since 3 weeks is commonly seen in bronchitis and lung infection. So we need to rule out both in your case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need antibiotics, antihistamines, anti inflammatory, inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Better to first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
