Posted on Thu, 1 Jun 2017
Question: I have coughing especially at night or during exercise/stress, conjunctivitis, no fever, oxygen levels ok, good blood pressure, non smoker, constantly short of breath, did asthma test and it looked normal. I'm 38 years old 5'11" and 160lbs. I try to eat healthy and take vitamins and herbal supplements. Why can't this cough go away it is worse during stress, when I think about coughing, physical activity and now at night?

Brief Answer:
Does not look to be of cardiac origin

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

After reading the details provided by you i would like to tell you that the cough doesn't looks to be due to some cardiac disorder however to be on the sure side i would like to advise you to get a ECHOCARDIGRAPHY done to make sure the structural integrity of heart is alright.

Your cough seems to be more of anxiety related. So first get one echo done and if it comes out to be normal then its advisable that you should persaonally consult a psychologist for your stress reduction therapy.

I hope this information will be helpful.

Kind Regards

I forgot to include that I had an ekg done tested normal.
Chest X-ray normal.
No echocardiogram though.

For what it's worth I just recently have been getting nausea in the morning, swollen glands, sore throat especially when swallowing.

The cough usually lasts all day long. It come about a couple years ago??
I don't know what to do??
