Brief Answer:
Bed rest needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
During the severe pain getting up from the bed is not recommended. You need to have an MRI scan to detect any disc prolapse and nerve root compression. Absolute bed rest is necessary for at least 2 weeks till the pain subsides completely. You can use a L-S brace to support your back while using the restroom.
Taking oral muscle relaxants will help in reducing the pain and in early recovery.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Yes you can use heating pad.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
You can use a heating pad. The first thing you need is an MRI scan to rule out any nerve injury. A back injury can take weeks to recover. You can take Tab. Mahagesic MR 4 mg twice a day after meals for relief. The of physiotherapy can be decided after investigations and a physical examination only. Do consult an orthopedician for proper treatment.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Do not try to sit.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Since your muscles are stiff it means that these need more time to heal. Do not force yourself to sit. A back injury usually needs at least 3 weeks of bed rest. You will have to go for MRI in a vehicle in lying down position only. Sitting and walking can cause a further damage and nerve compression.
Continue with the same treatment.
Regards.
