Brief Answer:
Muscle relaxants can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The persistent pain in the neck even after the surgery can be due to further progression of the arthritic changes. An MRI scan or Ct scan of the neck will help in detecting the exact cause.
The treatment usually involves pain killers , muscle relaxants and regular physiotherapy. You are already taking opioids. You need a proficient pain specialist who can alter the dosage according to the severity of your symptoms. You can get a referral for a pain specialist from your general physician.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
