Suggest Treatment For Severe Acne And Scars

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Apr 2015
Question: Although I am now 26 years of age, I still suffer quite badly with spots. I have tried various cleaners, but these have not proved to be successful. I would like to know if there are any other treatments I could try, as this not only affects my appearance, but also my self confidence. Many thanks.

Brief Answer:
Photograph required

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
By spots you mean to say areas of hyper pigmentation?
Do you develop acne too or there are only spots?
If possible please upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving you a closer diagnosis and a better line of management.
There is an option to upload photograph on right side of query page.
Please utilize that.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I have attached a photograph of one of the involved areas. There are other areas of my face that are similar, but I struggled to get an appropriate camera angle. Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
Chemical peel

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the photograph.
I can see you have pigmentation mainly in central area of face.
If there is no response with creams you can go for chemical peeling.
Glycolic acid peels are very effective and can be used on monthly basis.
Also use a sunscreen with 30 spf daily.
This will help you.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Peeling done by dermatologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
Glycolic acid peels are usually done by dermatologists. If no dermatologist is nearby you can buy glycolic acid 12 % cream. You can buy it online. But it is better to consult a dermatologist.
Apply it daily in evening keep for half hour and wash it off.
In morning use a sunscreen with 30 spf.

Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank You.
