Posted on Thu, 12 Mar 2015
Question: I have retina vein occlusion. Now in both eyes. I have been getting shots into the eyes with aiyala (might be misspelled) and some lazer. Is that the latest treatment and the best one? At first in was just the left and the right I could read the bottom of the eye chart. No more. Very concerned. XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having vein occlusion in both the eyes and you are on treatment.
I can understand your concern.
No need to be worried as you are on right treatment and it is the latest treatment.
It is probably spelling mistake and it is injection avastin and laser treatment.

The vein occlusion is of two sub types, ischemic and non ischemic. The non ischemic type has got good prognosis and will respond to treatment.

You are probably having non ischemic variety as you are having vision in the eye and the ischemic variety usually does not respond to treatment and requires repeated sessions of treatment. Probably the gentleman whom you have met is having ischemic variety.

However I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist the sub type and thorough systemic evaluation as you are having bilateral involvement.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards
