Restless leg syndrome treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mgkomm, thanks for asking from HealthcareMagic.

I can understand your concern. You are suffering from "restless leg syndrome (RLS)". It is treated by

- First avoid those substances which can cause it like caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. Totally avoid them.

- Consult a doctor to rule out the other underlying causes, like anemia, kidney disease, diabetes, varicose vein. If anything is positive, treatment of it will cause relief.

- Even after treating the cause, if restless leg syndrome persists, then you specifically need medication for it. One medication "Ropinirole", you are already taking.

- Other similar drugs which can also help, are Pramipexole, Rotigotine.

- Syndopa and Carbidopa are given if no relief with above medication.

- Clonazepam or diazepam can be given to get sleep and relieve mind. They don't treat RLS.

- Gabapentin and Pregabalin can be used to treat sensory symptoms like tingling/pain/numbness.

- Clonidine is given in resistant cases. It is given along with other medication like Ropinirole, Gabapentin.

- Do regular stretching exercise to get long-term care.

Please discuss these medications with your doctor. Depending upon the safety profile, medication can be given to you.

Hope it will help. If you have any kind of doubts, do let me know.

Thanks.
Take care.
