Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps In Groin After Sexual Activity

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Sep 2015
Question: I need thoughts on tiny red bumps on my glans. I had unprotected sex with my fiance on Aug 22nd and this is not the first time we indulged in unprotected sex rather the second time in last two years.

All this started with a persistent burning sensation on the glans on Aug 24th along with weakness and itching/heat in eyes. Then few days later, I saw the tiny red bumps. The tiny bumps are not usually itchy. They are tiny and currently are not like water containing blisters.

Just for the sake of history, I was diagnosed with candida balanitis in August last year, few weeks after getting a blow job from my fiance. All this can be unrelated.

She's clean and had an HSV/HPV test done in XXXXXXX this year as part of her visa requirement. She was clean. I have asked her to get a complete std test done again.

She has no symptoms yet and she's at her usual self.

I myself will get a complete std test done in three weeks from Aug 22nd.

Though I got a CBC blood test, liver function and kidney function test along with urine examination and urine culture.

ESR in blood was high at 23.5 while MCH was low and MPV was high at 13.5. Urine was normal with PH level of 8. Urine culture did not find any organism.

Please advise. Are all this related to unprotected sex and the cunnilingus?

Possibly everything's unrelated and the bumps are due to the burning sensation and have become apparent because I took
FAS-3 KIT FAS 3 KIT(4 TAB) AZITHROMYCIN FLUCONAZOLE SECNIDAZOLE, yesterday. Only once.

Eagerly awaiting a response.

Thanks XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
Considering your detailed history and photographs the most probable diagnosis is herpes.
Following are the findings favouring it.
1. You developed lesions on second day of sexual intercourse which is enough for herpes to develop. It cannot be allergy as it would have developed on same day.
2. Blood test for herpes is not always positive even if infection is present.
3. Females are usually carrier and are asymptotic.
4. The photograph shows very superficial erosions on your glans, which is suggestive of herpes. The water filled lesions in herpes are very superficial and might not be even noted.
Herpes doesn't always get transmitted sexually.
Females might get this infection from any other source like water, toilet seats etc.
They are usually asymptotic and hence virus gets a chance to grow.
I treat such cases with oral antivirals.
Both the partners must be treated and treatment is usually beneficial.
You can try this in consultation with your doctor.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
