Question: I am 58 yo. I had my prostate removed 2 years ago. I have been married for 30+ years. Prior to having my prostate removed; I have always had pre-mature ejaculation, always. My wife has become frustrated many times. She is not really wanting to give me another orgasum, can't blame her. I always ejaculate within 10-15 seconds upon penetration. Many times before penetration. Will vardenafil work, or help?

Brief Answer:
Vardenafil works for getting erections only

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have been having a problem with premature ejaculations and this is affecting your marriage. To treat premature ejaculation vardenafil will not help. Vardenafil is used to get and maintain erections only. The medication that will help with premature ejaculation is a class of drugs called SSRIs or prozac, paxil and celexa. You may know them better as antidepressants. These medications will reduce the sensitivity of your penis and allow you to not ejaculate early. I recommend that you seek your medical provider and see if these medications will help.
