Suggest Treatment For Persistent Eye Infection

Question: My son age 35 ways more than 350 lbs. He had an eye infection and was prescribed Neo/poly/dex .1% as well as amoxicillin. Since then he has been lethargic and in the mornings he has blue fingers and nails. We have an Oxygen machine and I put him on it and when he stays on it, he looks better, I can also understand him because he speaks clearly. This morning I woke him up because he slept for 2 days and 2nights ( almost 42 or so hours ). This afternoon he looks swollen all over his body and his testicle sack hangs all the way to his knees. He dosen't have insurence and refuses to go to the emergency. We also have heart trouble in the family

Hi,

I have reviewed your sons information. The lungs have a problem and explains why he gets blue without oxygen supplementation. With the amount of liquid in his scrotum, am not surprised he might be having some in his lungs as well which further compounds the functioning of his lungs.

Honestly, he must go to the hospital. No bills or dislike of hospital is enough reason not to go there at this time. His health is simply not in good shape.

I also think the dose of this lasix has to be increased so as to increase fluid excretion. This will relieve the swollen testes and the breathing as well.

I wish your son well and let him know going to the hospital might be the only way to guarantee that his health care needs are well addressed.
