Suggest Treatment For Persistent Constipation And Gastritis

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Feb 2016
Question: Im a 47 yo male. I have experienced constipation and gastritis for 2 1/2 years. I controlled most symptoms with OTC medications and diet. I occasionally would have a flare and have stomach discomfort. I have seen a doctor regularly and all my blood work is normal. My fecal occult tests are normal as well. Mirralax works great at keeping me regular. About 2 months ago I noticed by issues were increasing. I began having ruq discomfort that moves to the side of my chest. I also began having loose stools without blood. I saw my doctor and she palpated my abdomen and its normal. She said come back in a month. So right now I feel quesey and have loose stools and occasionally have right side abdominal pain/ache that subsides after a while. This has been going on for a few weeks (on and off). Im lost at what I should do. I dont have insurance so I have to limit what I do. Do I go to the ER? Do i need a colonoscopy?

Brief Answer:
Please give some more details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

What kind of OTC medicine have you been taking? How do you know you suffer from gastritis (as gastritis is stomach inflammation and to diagnose it gastroscopy is necessary)? When was the FOBT (fecal occult blood test) done? Was it done only once? Where is your abdominal pain exactly located (upper right, middle right or lower right)? Do you have any nausea, bloating, acid reflux? Any urinating problems including burning while urinating, frequent urinating (do you wake up at night to urinate)?

Please answer this questions so I can give valuable answer.

I`m looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.
