Suggest Treatment For Painless Bump On Tongue Post Sinus Surgery
Question: I have a small bump middle of tounge. No color cant see it unless you run your finger over it. My touunge has cracks as well and its inbetween two cracks. Does not hurt seems to get bigger when irritated and goes back down to almost nothing. I had it removed yesterday by a oral surgeon for biopsy and it was hard and he said probably a traumatic fibroma or scar tissue but wasnt sure. He said a cancerous lesion would be cheesy like. What do u think? I have had it for around a year right after i have had sinus issues with post drip and numerous spitting. I also had sinus surgery in july of 15 if this helps. I am a type 1 diabetic has well.

I agree with the judgment of your doctor. Even if by eye some lesions may see not harmful at all, the examination which can tell for sure if it is a malign lesion of not is the biopsy.
So its good that you are doing it. The results will give your doctor the idea if you need to let it alone or remove it.
The other factors that you mentioned does not affect the fact if it is a malign lesion or not.

What would a cancerous bump look like? Mine was like scar tissue firm. He said a cancerous bump woul be like cheese and fall apart in his hands. Is this true to your knowledge? Also mine was in middle of tounge and did not hurt. It's hard to bite that far up the tounge but I have been sucking mucus from my throat because my post drip where my tounge would hit the top of my mouth. Just trying to see what cancerous bumps would look and feel like.

So my last question is what does a cancer lump look like after he cuts it out of my tounge? Mine was like a XXXXXXX tic tac a bit firm and looked like hard scar tissue. Just concerened and want a bit more on tounge cancer.

Though, as I said above the biopsy is the only one which will confirm that suspicion.
