Question: Hi i had false nails on and went to a beautician for about 6 months. They filed my nails quite a bit. About a month ago my one finger became sensitive. It looked like there was a blood spot under my skin. I opened up and it started bleeding EXESSIVELY, like dripping on the floor and i battle to get it to stop. Its now a week and it has not get any better. It is painfull, like n pulse in it and if i accidently use it the bleeding start. I think it is some kind of fungus but dont know how to treat it

Brief Answer: Paronychia; Oral antibiotics Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it. Seems the area is infected, Paronychia (infection of the nail fold). In the picture it is swollen and red and as you said it is painful too. If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to take an Oral antibiotic (penicillin group e.g Amoxycillin preferably in combination with clavulanic acid, 625 mg thrice daily for 5-7 days ). A topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin can be applied at the spot twice daily as well An OTC pain killer e.g Ibuprofen would help you deal with the pain symptomatically. I hope this answers your query. take care regards
