Brief Answer:
You have infection of Testicle (Orchitis) with secondary hydrocele.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed painful swelling of the left testicle .

The painful and tender swelling of your left testicle is due to infection of the Testicle (Orchitis) with secondary hydrocele .

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum.

In the mean while start taking broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefotaxime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac and serropeptidase twice daily .

It takes 3-4 weeks for complete cure hence you will need to take medications for four weeks .

Ensure to drink more water .

Please note that this is definitely not due to Alfuzosin that you have been prescribed for enalarged Prostate .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .

Thanks and Regards.

Thanks for your help. Can you please send me a prescription for the medications you mentioned so I can start doing that right away? It will take me at least 2 or 3 weeks to get an appt with my Dr at the VA & I would guess this condition would be much worse by then. If you can do that for me, please get it to me right away so I get started with it. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
You need to take prescription from your family Physician .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .

Prescribing medication is not an ethical practice and laws of the state and medical ethics forbid me from giving you a prescription. Moreover we are from other country our prescription is not valid in U.S. You need to request your family physician for prescription .

Thanks and Regards.
