Brief Answer:
Requires Evaluation for the Cause of Nephrotic Syndrome

Detailed Answer:
HI XXXXXXX

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

First of all let me tell you what Nephrotic syndrome mean. It means due to some problem there is significant protein leakage in the urine. So the cause for Nephrotic syndrome has to be found out as there are certain causes like Infections which treated properly , Nephrotic syndrome goes off.

But there are certain causes of Nephrotic syndrome which cannot be cured but can be controlled through medicines ( has to be taken for years ) So it becomes essential to know the cause of Nephrotic syndrome.

For the evaluation of the cause many tests has to be done among which Renal Biopsy is the most important and for that a Pediatric Nephrologist is the right person. Do consult him .

The treatment as of now is fine . But I need to know since how many days he is on these treatment. Kindly let me know that.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Continue same medication.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for the reply.

Treatment started on 25th of last month ? If so its been just a month of treatment .

See Nephrotic syndrome can be broadly classified into two categories .

1. Steroid Responsive : Responds well to Wysolone
2. Steroid resistant : Doesn't respond to Wysolone .

The first category has a better outcome when compared to the second . But it takes 2-3 months to show responsiveness for steroids . My advise is to continue the same medication for 1 more month and repeat Urine Albumin levels.

However you do need to Consult a pediatric Nephrologist as advised but you can take time of 1 month to search for him . Very sorry I don't know any personally.

Any clarification feel free to ask .

Regards.
