Question: I just got back from vacation from Asia.

I have this feeling which I think is jet lag (think I have felt this way before) which I think or feel that my heart "skips" a beat, like a nauseated, very tired feeling. Someone said it may be a blood cloth. should I rush to ER?

Brief Answer:
could be arrhythmia

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

feeling that your heart skipped a beat can be caused by arrhythmia. Some arrhythmias are benign (for example some extra systoles after significant caffeine consumption or anxiety). Other arrhythmias are not benign and have to be diagnosed and treated. You'd better visit the ER for an ECG (electrocardiogram) to clarify this issue, if possible (sometimes arrhythmias can be transient and a single ECG recording may not always detect them).

I hope you find my comments helpful!

you don't think it's just caused by being tired or overly tired?

Brief Answer:
it depends...

Detailed Answer:
Well... it depends. If it's really an abnormal beat then being tired is not a good enough reason to justify it. If it's not an abnormal beat but it's more like an atypical symptom that resembles to a skipped beat then it could be. In any case, since there is no other way to clarify the cause, I would suggest visiting the ER particularly if the symptom is persistent.

Kind Regards!
