Light yellow mucous is getting heavily discharged from her nose and her voice is also supressed. She has been given antibiotics ziprax100 4 ml per day and nebulization with levolin six hourly and budecort half respule 12 hourly. Also nasoclear for nose. Is nebulization helpful? When all should nasoclear be given?

Brief Answer:
Nebulisation will be helpful in respiratory distress

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for asking on this platform

Most common cause of respiratory tract infection in this age is some viral infection.
In small babies there is chance of secondary bacterial infection with the viral one.
I would like to know if there is any breathing problem like increase in respiratory rate or retraction of chest wall.
Nebulisation with levolin helps in relieving the spasm of airways and thus improves respiratory distress.Budecort is usually not recommended in this such condition for nebulisation.
Nasoclear is nasal saline drops which helps in clearing the nasal mucosa by keeping it moist.
Ziprax contains cefixime an antibiotic.
I would suggest you to continue the same.
Adding combination of antiallergic like chlorpheniramine and decongestant like phenylephrine would be helpful in relieving the nasal congestion and husky voice.
Observe for increase in respiratory distress, poor feeding or general activity of baby and if you find any abnormality consult your pediatrician immediately.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your baby's speedy recovery.
Regards
