Suggest Treatment For Mild Neck Pain And Headaches

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Aug 2016
Question: Hi, I have a small swollen area in my occipital lymph node area (assuming it's a lymph node but not sure?). It seems to have appeared out of nowhere. I also have had mild neck pain and headaches (which I've been treated for in past). Just over the past two days am having very very mild numbness in left side of cheek area on face and some mild pressure in left eye. I'm going through an incredible amount of stress with an upcoming international move and job change, and know how much that can negatively impact me. Any thoughts on this? It's not helping my anxiety!

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
The swelling that has appeared has to be tested.
I prefer to do an FNAC ( Fine needle aspiration cytology ) of the swelling for a clue.
If it is lymphadenitis, swelling of the Lymph node due to infection and associated inflammation, I prescribe Antibiotic like Amoxycillin and Cloxacillin capsule 500mg twice daily for 5 days along with anti inflammatory tablet to my patients.
The drainage area of the Lymph node should also be tested.
Please consult your doctor, get examined clinically and ask for any relationship of the cheek numbness, left eye pain with the present swelling.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Please come back after your doctor's consultation.
Wish you good health.
Regards
