Brief Answer:
need to differentiate between both

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic .

Appendicitis pain and diverticulitis pain are similar , even associated symptoms overlap.

Usually appendicitis pain is situated in right lower abdomen and doesn't move with turning to different sides.

In case of diverticulitis pain usually moves as you turn body in different direction.

But as we can't rely only on this feature I suggest you to get a CT scan done of abdomen. This will differentiate between appendicitis and diverticulitis. Treatment depends accordingly .

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.
