Suggest Treatment For Lump On Side Of Adam's Apple
Question: My son said he's had a lump at the side of his Adam's apple, and he felt a snap. Now he's got extreme pain. What can that be?
Brief Answer:
Rupture of the cyst possibly
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
The swelling beside the Adam's apple or the thyroid prominence could have been a cyst (fluid filled sac), which has rupture and leading to excruciating pain.
At this point, I would suggest him to take OTC pain relievers and consult the doctor immediately. He may require an ultrasound of the neck done to rule out presence of other cysts and any complications thereof.
Hope I have answered the query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.
