Question: Hello doctor ,
I am 39 yrs old , and I with the 2 kids ( aged 6 and 8 years) to manage , I am constantly on the toes . I am also doing a full time job 8.30 to 5.30 for which my day starts at 5.15 a.m and ends at 11 p.m.
Because of my desk job and a canteen at my office i am putting on wt and with constant stress of managing my home , office , travelling and childrens studies , I am feeling I have no time for myself .
Recently there was bone density test , and I came to know that bone density is less .
I also saw an ad in the T.V showing Ostocalcium tablets and 1 more advt. showing Nerobion forte for activeness . What about Revital ?
Is it advisable to take these medications. Will it be able to make me a difference on my hectic lifestyle .
Same is the situation for my hubby. We both manage our home without servants for doing the domestic chores. He also gets very very tired in the evenings and we cannot give much time to our kids .
Please advise

Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well going through your entire problem I would like to tell you that what situation you are in most of the people suffer from same story . Regarding bone mineral density , at your age it should not be less . Still do send me the report of your test .

Now coming to your issue , you are advised to take a calcium 500 mg daily , for vitamin D 60000 IU once a week for 8 weeks then once a month . You can take a multivitamin supplement according to your wish , revital is good too .

Plus get your thyroid levels checked , thyroid problem can give rise to such problems and go undetected . So please get TSH , T3, T4 done to look for that.

Take care.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for reverting back.

The symptom you are mentioning seems to be that of plantar fascitis. It will not go away with just supplements . For this you should do contrast water bath that is keep two tubs of water on with hot water and one cold . Dip your affected feet once in hot water then in cold for half a minute each repeatedly ofr 20 minutes daily before going to bed. Plus avoid any heels and start wearing sports shoes which will help you correct this pain because if it becomes chronic it is very difficult to treat it.
