Suggest Treatment For Left Sided Shoulder Pain And Increased Heart Rate

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Jul 2015
Question: I am so worried. I have had ongoing upper left shoulder pain. I now developed pins and needle like sensations in my feet and hands. I had a stress test today and the tech was very nervous since my heart rate went from 95 to 122 just standing. I also heard her say that there was ST depression. The dr came in and prescribed Atenolol once a day. Now I worried I have a heart condition. I feel achy and tired. Not sure what to do as the only thing they said was to follow up with my dr.

Brief Answer:
I'm waiting for the stress test results to be uploaded.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms aren't typical for cardiac issues. More over ST depression on a stress test should be above 1 mm in order to make the stress test to be considered positive.

Since your test was reviewed by the physician and he prescribed you only atenolol for HR (didn't recommended other procedures) is a fact that exclude any serious heart conditions.

However can you upload the stress test results so i would be able to confirm this by my self.

Meantime I strongly recommend:
- to stop dinking alcohol,
- quit smoking,
- a healthy diet reach in fresh fruits vegetables, poor in animal fats,
- increase physical activity
- regular follow ups with your doctors every one year.

I'm waiting for the test results to be uploaded.
Wish you health!
