Brief Answer:
knee synovitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

During post-partum period, due to hormonal changes and lactation, calcium and vitamin D deficiency results. This causes temporary weakening of the bones (osteopenia),especially of the weight bearing joints like knee.

Increased overload on the joint cartilage results in synovitis and pain.

She should wear compression bandage around the knee, apply local analgesic gel and hot fomentation.

Taking anti inflammatory tablets like paracetamol ,aceclofenac will help.

She should avoid squatting or sitting cross legged.

Taking calcium and vitamin D supplements daily is necessary to maintain normal calcium metabolism in the body.

If the pain does not reduce within the next 5 days, then get an knee Xray done to rule out other causes of pain.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.
