Suggest Treatment For Intralesional Triamcinolone
Question: Since February 2014 i started noticing several clear patches of facial hair on my neck. At first i thought it was Alopecia barbae but when i let the beard grow out a few days, i see that the patches have white hair but the hair is not as thick as the dark facial hair. Does this mean my beard will eventually turn grey?

The condition you have got is called Alopecia areata. Its an autoimmune condition where antibodies act against hair roots and melanin thus leading to patcy hair loss from any body area.
You are have grey hair because antibodies act against melanin ( the color imparting pigmnent) in hair roots.
Usually alopecia areata is a self resolving condition buy since it is autoimmune condition recurrence is not uncommon.
I would like to begin my management with some basic investigations like thyroid profile, blood counts and chemistry, blood glucose to rule out any underlying systemic condition.
The best treatment option for you would be intralesional triamcinolone injections every 3 weekly by a certified dermatologist.
Also I would advise application of minoxidil 10 % solution and clobetasol- salicylic acid mixture twice a day over patches.
Oral biotin and zinc supplements should taken to boost up the hair growth.
Apart from these many other treatments like phenolization ( application of concerntrated phenol over patches),
Tacrolimus, oral psoralen therapy, etc can be tried.
