Question: I was diagnosed with irritable bowel about 10 years ago. about 3 years ago I started having pain and pressure in my rectal area, this just comes on whenever. 2 days ago I started in with intestinal cramps and blood in the stool. There was what looked like bloody tissue coming from my bowels also. I'm still not well but not seeing the blood as I was. There was also some black in some of my stool. What should I do and what could this be?

Brief Answer:
This could be an hemorrhoids

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Initially bleeding started whenever you are straining so probably it could be a simple hemorrhoids, what you need to do is avoid spicy and oily food, if you are a smoker kindly stop smoking, increase fibre diet in your food like green leafy vegetables and a banana in the night.

If still there is burning sensation and bleeding you can consider a sitz bath that is take a small tub, pour XXXXXXX warm water into it with betadine or some salt sit inside the tub for twice a day for 15 to 20 mins. With this above measure your problem should settle down .

Thank you

I do not have itching or swelling in my rectal area...the cramping started at night and the blood came out with bits of tissue and also some black tissue.I also have severe reflux.i also have nausea.I don't feel it's a simple case of hemmroids,I wouldn't be sick from it with the cramping and nausea.

Brief Answer:
hii..sewlling in rectal are still goes in favour of hemorrhoids

Detailed Answer:
Itching ,swelling In rectal area and bleeding still goes in favour of hemorrhoids or a fissure and these above symptoms make a person weak.
and regarding reflux avoid spicy food specially in the night and can consider using a antacid with antiemetic combination that wil help you .
And you can consider the treatment above if still the symptoms are worse then try to contact your doctor for a proper check up
hope you will be fine soon .
Thank you

okay. .one more time, I do NOT have itching or swelling in my anal area.I never eat spicy food due to my stomach. I was not straining to use the bathroom, I have diarrhea.I'm not sure why you keep saying hemmroids when I clearly stated I do not have symptoms of them.

Brief Answer:
ohh really sorry I apologise

Detailed Answer:
I miss understood your question ,
tissue in blood usually called mucus and you have got pain abdomen too with intetmittent blood.
So probably it might be an inflammatory bowel disease ,if the symptoms are worsening kindly contact your doctor and get few blood tests which will help to know the exact problem ,like complete blood count ,ESR ,CRP and if needed a colonoscopy .And for reflux you can use as I advised earlier ...
I am really sorry once again
thank you
