Brief Answer:
Benzodiazapines

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Long term use of sleeping pills causes resistance especially when there is an event of acute stress.
I recommend Tab Clonazepam as a switch over from Tab Amitriptyline, it has a good side effect profile. It induces sleep and maintains sleep for a long time. However dependancy is an issue
The second drug is recommend is Tab Zolpidem, it is a good drug as well however it only induces sleep it does not maintain sleep. It is used in people who can maintain sleep but have trouble falling asleep.

These are my suggestions, please approach your physician for a prescription.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

I wish you good health and a speedy recovery

Regards
