Question: Hai,
I am male of 45 years. I am a patient of High BP for last 8-9 years. Earlier I was having homeopathic treatment and BP was under control. In Nov 13 I switched to allopathic as BP and cholesterol were not under control and my sugar was also increasing and sugar levels were fasting -95, PP 185 and Serum cholesterol was approx 280 approx.
Now I am a patient with high BP, sugar and higher cholesterol. Doctor has recommended Losar-50, tonact 10 mg and Melmet 500 SR. My lipid profile after these medicines in Nov 2014 of is as Serum cholesterol F159, TGL 77, HDL 49, LDL 97 and Sugar Fasting 70 and PP 124. This test for sugar was conducting without taking any tablet on that day.
After that everything was fine. Recently my BP was 170/100. I went to doctor and he advised me ECG. The report is attached. As per this I have problem of LVH. Now he has recommended Losar A -1 OD, Melmet 500 SR - 1 OD and Tonact 10 mg - 1HS.
On more thing I have one solitary kidney by birth. my KFT results of Nov 14 Blood urea 22, serum creatinine 0.9, serum sodium 135, Potasium 4.2, calcium 8.2, serum uric acid 4.9, serum phosphorus 3.2

Now please reply some of my queries
1. Are the above medicines are fine enough for long duration.
2. Should i continue to take sugar tablets?
3. Is LVH is reversible process. If so please advice if treatment is fine enough or I had to change any thing

Brief Answer:
Yes you are on right medicines

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for query.

Your lipids and sugars look good but need to take medicines.
You have to continue melmet Along with diet and exercise.
Your blood pressure ideally needs to be below, 135/85 in v/o diabetes and solitary kidney. Probably losarA should achieve it but can only assert by following up and monitoring.
LVH can be reversed with good BP control. But you have to quantitatively assess with echo cardiogram to know whether it is increasing or decreasing

Doctor,
I am satisfied with reply. After how many months interval I should go for Echo test.
Presently reviewing by my ECG report can you please advice me that of what level is my LVH. Is t mild one or more. Can you somehow scale it on 1 to 100.
Should I go for Echo test right now or may I go for that after some interval.

Presently is my life safe on above prescription

Brief Answer:
Ecg is qualitative

Detailed Answer:
ECG is qualitative test as far LVH is concerned. that means it will tell us only about presence or absence of LVH and only indirectly suggest extent of LVH. to know exactly the extent of LVH you should undergo echo test now and know regression about 3-4 months after tight control of BP
