Brief Answer:
may need adjustment of frequency using medication

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Acyclovir is normally used as 200mg strength , 5 times a day for a recurrence of herpes or 400mg taken three times a day or 800mg strength twice daily.

If you are using it only twice daily at the lower doses of either 200mg tablets or 400mg tablets then it is possible that this is the reason that it has not healed quickly.

If you are using the 800mg strength then the dosing is fine.

If there is a secondary bacterial infection then this may also prevent healing. This may occur even though there is no obvious discharge seen.
Bacterial infection can occur in any open wound so cleaning the area with a dilute or mild antiseptic twice daily and applying a topical antibiotic cream may also help.

If there is no improvement with the change in dose (if needed depending on the strength you are using) and the bacterial treatment then you may need to see your doctor for reassessment.

Use an anti inflammatory pain killer such as cataflam, naproxen or ibuprofen to help with pain relief.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
