Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i will clear your doubts.
As age increases, all males will have an enlarged prostate.
The symptoms is what's bothersome and accordingly doctor will decide on treatment.
The Urologist will first examine you, with a rectal rexamination.(DRE).
The typical symptoms are :
Weak stream, incomplete emptying of urine, frequency of passing of urine, urgency in passing of urine, waking at night to pass urine, etc.
The test to diagnose it are urine flow rate, urine tests, blood creatinine , sugar, PSA and an ultrasound scan of abdomen and prostate.
According to reports, the further treatment will be decided.
