Brief Answer:
Could be due to dysentery.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. In absence of constipation it is quite likely that the blood is due to dysentery. I would insist you to get his stool microscopy done. Dysentery needs to be treated with antibiotics and I would insist you to visit a doctor at the earliest so that suitable treatment can be administered.

In case of loose stools I would insist you to give ORS (oral rehydration solution) to make up for the lost water and salts.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Body weight needed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

Cefixime or ciprofloxacin can be given. I would need to know the body weight of the child to let you know the right dose for the child.
