default
Posted on Mon, 22 Jun 2015
Question: I suffer from bi-polar II, GAD, OCD. Diagnosed mid 80's. Currently taking a cocktail of meds incl. Ability, Bupropion, Clonazapan etc. Total of 9. Worked good up until about month ago. I develop a tolerance around 4 - 8 months. I become violent (Don't act on it, internalize & cry uncontrollably). Also, hostile, depressed & irritable. What do you recommend w/ the latest meds I can talk to my psychiatrist about?

Brief Answer:
You are already on the best class of medicines. Need dose adjustment & more

Detailed Answer:
I welcome you Miss XXXX!

I am feeling sorry to hear about the condition you are facing now a days, but no worries I will take care of this.

You are taking the best possible and clinically proven medications for the Bipolar II, GAD and OCD. Ability contains aripiperazole a good antipsychotic, Bupropion a good antidepressant, Clonazepam a good Benzodiazepam for you, and others you didn't mention in question, I believe will also be up-to-date.
Sometimes during the course of treatment, it happens to some patients that, they become tolerant and drug doesn't do it anymore which it was doing best for years.

Please consult your Psychiatrist and ask for a change in dosages of your medicines. Ask him to add some mood stabilizer e.g Lithium, depakote, Lamictal. They are very effective agents and clinically proven to be the best ones in Bipolar mood swings as you are facing now a days.

Hope you get very well soon. Have a nice time.

In future, any medical help needed, you may go directly to my profile and Ask me a question directly from there.

Hope I tried my best to help you. Please dont forget high rating the answer and a positive review on my profile so that I may be in a better position to help you in future too.

Regards!
