Brief Answer:
Blood in the sputum is not good sign.

Detailed Answer:
hello,

Thank you for posting your question here.

I have gone through your query carefully and understand your concern

If after a course of antibiotics your wife has developed this new symptom of blood in the sputum, that means the infection is not getting better.

My advise to you is, please consult an internal medicine MD (Physician) and get your wife examined properly and then get an X-ray of chest as well as sputum gram staining, sputum culture and sensitivity and sputum AFB to find out the exact nature of the problem.

Once the exact cause is known, further course of action can be suggested.

I hope I have been of some help, please write back to me if you have any doubts.

Kind regards.
