Brief Answer:
Likely to be a viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

1. Most often respiratory tract infections in children are due to viral cause and antibiotics are unlikley to help. So, it is stupid enough to give Monocef O-CV and expect a benefit. Steam inhalation is the mainstay of treatment. Water in form of vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the mucus, thus providing relief. No medicine would be able to provide this benefit.

2. Adliv is an ayurvedic medicine and its benefits are not proven. However, the other medicine CriZ-M is likely to have similar action and use of two of them would not provide additional benefits. Irrespective of use of any medicine it will take a week or so.

3. Certain individuals are more prone to catching cold. The thickened mucus (cough) blocks the Eustachian tubes on either side (connecting between the inner throat and the middle ear). The purpose of these tubes is to equalize the air pressure inside the middle ear cavity. Mucus block of these tubes leads to pressure imbalance leading to pain in the ear. Steam inhalation is the mainstay of treatment. Water in form of vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the mucus, thus providing relief.
