Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy has to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms can either by a constipation or bowels obstruction. Over the age of 50 the risk of colon cancer significantly rises. And one of the colon cancer signs can be bowels obstruction which results with bloating, lack of stool.
Such obstruction can be similar to constipation so it is hard to determine what exactly is your issue.
That is why, as it takes long time right now, please consult your doctor. Colonoscopy is the right thing to do at this point. Without this test, you can not be sure what is causing this.

The other possible reasons of constipation are hypothyroidism, chronic bowels obstruction or just bad diet. Be the worst thing should be ruled out at first.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Could an Ultrasound conclude wether there is a blockage that could be moved by laxatives / or a colonic cleansing?

Brief Answer:
No, ultrasound can not do that.

Detailed Answer:
No, ultrasound can not do that. Abdominal x-ray can give such information. But still colonoscopy has to be done.

I cannot afford your recommendations due to Obozo's Okillmecare - its limitations and costs. My $$ was wasted here.

I have made an appointment with a Wellness organization that was recommended to me. My opinion of doctors has not changed, you sit quite comfortably in the pocket of Okillmecare.

Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy should be done for your safety.

Detailed Answer:
Its really sad to hear that. Well, all I can say is that mentioned test (colonoscopy) has been mentioned not to drain your pocket. This is a very important test and its recommendation has nothing to do with the money.
