Posted on Tue, 8 Aug 2017
Question: I have been to the emergency room and an urgent care facility in the past 6 days for dizziness - first I was given mecalizine which only made me sleep and now I am on Antibiotic and Decongestant. I have been on the new medicine for 3 days and I am still feeling dizzy and cloudy headed. I will be on a 5 hour flight on Friday is there anything else I can do? I do not have any physical discomforts just dizziness

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised and do vertigo exercises

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Acute infection or upper respiratory tract infections can cause acute vestibulitis causing vertigo.
Antibiotics and decongestant will help gradually.
You can take betahistine or cinnarizine for vertigo.
Avoid extreme and sudden neck turning. Vertigo exercises can be done too.
You can visit to the treating doctor if not getting any response.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further information.
