Suggest Treatment For Constant Bloating, Nausea And Cough

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Dec 2014
Question: Hi Doc,

I'm 32 about 200 lbs 6 ft

It started with a light cough which would not go away. I got a bad case of reflux one night and the cough started. I read online baking soda made it better so I staterted taking it. Also some apple cider vinegar. Started getting nauseas in the morning after 4 days of taking the soda. Had to eat something and then it would go away. This was all happening within a month, I then had a shoulder strain and took ibiprophen and only ate a few apples. Now I have constant bloating as soon as I eat something. It's hard to eat in the morning but gets better after a few bite. Have lost a little weight since my anxiety levels seems higher. I have heard of hiatel hernias causing issues but I don't have bad reflux at the moment. Still have a light cough but the bloating worries me. Feels like food stuck sometimes below chest but gets better during the day. Please help.

Brief Answer:
Possible gastritis/ulcer/cholecyst problems...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and I can say that your symptoms are highly suggestive for gastritis or ulcer.

I highly advise to run upper endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound for further evaluations.

Meanwhile, I advise to :
- avoid foods that can trigger your symptoms: spicy/chilly/oily/fried/citrus foods
- eat often and small portions and slowly
- take extra pillow to raise your head while sleeping
- take OTC Ranitidine at bedtime and antacids

All the best!
