Question: Sir,
I had cough for 3 weeks now ok after that I have a pain in lower right rib cage and sometimes back. I am very scared 8 months before I had done master health chk up it came fine. Is because of poor posture or I sleep in a defective way.

Brief Answer:
Better to get done chest x ray first.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having chronic cough (cough for more than 2 weeks) and lower rib cage pain.
So we should first rule out lung related diseases for your symptoms.
So first get done chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung diseases.
Coughing can cause musculoskeletal pain which can be worsen by poor sleeping posture.
So your symptoms can be due to musculoskeletal pain but better to first rule out lung related causes.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I m 60 yrs. old, 178lbs and pretty good health. The following symtoms I have a tickle in my throat which leads to a cough watery eyes with pressure, runny nose, clearing throat and sometimes hoarseness. I drink water and eventually stops. I have been to ENT doctor.(which recommended having an endoscopy). I have had an endoscopy, which the Dr. mentioned Barett s esophagus (no cancer). I m on Nexium 40 mg since March but then started feeling a lump in my throat everytime I swallowed. I went back to ENT Dr. (no lump to be seen) but said the symtoms I mentioned sound like LPR Reflux (given a booklet) and yes I have about (4) symtoms. Now I m also on Zantac 150 MG. I don t see much change with all the medicine. I had/have NO SYMTOMS at all of heartburn, acid coming up, burping etc. right from the beginning just a chronic cough which lead to the ENT Dr. which lead to so on so forth. I m leary of staying on any medication for a long period of time, especially PPI s. What possibly do you think my condition may be and what is your thought about the medications. Thank you Patrice

Hi, Ny daughter Paige is now 4, and has had a massive splenomegaly since birth that doctors, paediatricins cannot find a cause for. She had a chronic cough for 3 years, and mucous poos which a natural therapist has succesfullt treated as leaky bowel . She has recently had chronic bleeding nose and her cuts and sores are healing slowly and looking inflamed. her spleen is 21cm and she has occasional hepatomegaly. She has been tested for everything including parasitic involvement. All her siblings are healthy. serology shows that she has had both CMV and Epstein-barr, but the haemotologist says that it is definately not the cause of the biggest spleen he has seen . Ultrasounds show an engorged spleen with no fibroid tissue and no portal flow froblems. She has always had pancytopenia, but lately her white cells have been much lower than usual. She has no autoimmune disorders, thalassemia, TB, Kala azar, or any of the thousand things tested for. She needs help. Thankyou for your time
