Suggest Treatment For Broken Fibula And Constant Twitching In Left Calf

default
Posted on Tue, 11 Aug 2015
Question: I broke my fibula in october of 2014 and had surgery to repair it. I have a plate with 7 screws in it. For the last 3 months or so I have had consistent twitching (painless) in my left calf. I do not know if the two are related or not? Do you know what this could be? It is only in my left calf which is the same leg as my injury.

thank you

Brief Answer:
Possibly related to fracture injury.Nerve Hypersensitivity.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

Yes this twitching is possibly related to post trauma sequel.

This could be due to overactive nerves in and around fractured segments and screws/plates.

Short term use of tab Pregabalin 75 mg will help to control the symptoms.

Repeat X ray at scheduled intervals will help.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.

Thank you. Should I be concerned that it is something serious such as ALS?
