Brief Answer:
Amebiasis being common could be the culprit.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

If I were your doctor, I would first advise you to avoid eating from outside specially fried spicy fast food with chatni, if you do. Intestinal infections do occur frequently in out part of the subcontinent specially amebiasis which most of us must have experienced sometimes or other. Bloating of the stomach could one of the common manifestations of intestinal amebiasis without any other symptoms. Therefore, I would advise for a stool test for ova and cyst , and treat them if positive. Cysts are not that easily seen under the microscope except by the trained experienced eyes, and as amebiasis is endemic in this place, one could go for a therapeutic trial of anti amebic drug along with the proton pump inhibitor drug which you are already on. I would also like to add a probiotic to it.

On the dietary front, I would advise you to go for more of roughage like fruit and vegetables along with adequate liquids. I would insist on fresh home made curd daily in your diet.

However, one of the most important aspect of your treatment would be regular exercises like a morning walk or light jogging depending on your medical fitness. This would also help in reducing your weight apart from helping in relieving the bloating of your stomach. Reducing one's weight gives relief in many of the pathological problems in those who are obese. If you observe these aspects regularly, may be you would be off from many of your medications.

At the end, I would conclude that all these medical advice would be helpful only after a general physical examination of yours by a doctor and some basic routine baseline blood and urine investigations including recording of your Blood Pressure, an ECG, ultrasound abdomen and x-ray chest if need be in your age group, and so you are required to consult your family physician/medical specialist before you start any medication for this.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
