Suggest Treatment For Bat Bite

Question: I am having a little anxiety about something. About two months ago, I awoke to a bat flying around in my room ( I could hear it about me head scratching the wall), and I hit it with a tennis racket and killed it; then threw it out. Well, for some reason I was just searching the internet and came across some reading on rabies. I have not shown any signs or symptoms that I know of, but clearly I should have had it tested (didn't know that, as I don't recall being bitten). Though the odds are low, and there has not been a positive case of a bat having rabies in my county in 2 years, I am a bit worried (because that's my nature). Should I go see a Dr.; are there any tests they can do?

Brief Answer:
Near zero risk of acquiring rabies.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I have carefully read your query and understand your concern.

The risk of you acquiring the rabies from a bat is near zero in your case due to;

1.the lack of any injury causing bleeding-this virtually rules out the possibility of viral invasion.
2.lack of bat induced rabies case in your region since the last 2 years.

These two are two important vital factors in your case which indicate the near zero possibility of you getting infected with rabies virus.

So i would like to conclude that ,there is absolutely no need for you to seek medical attention further in any form.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.
