Suggest Treatment For Anxiety

Question: I have been experiencing a high amount of anxiety over the past several weeks due to a high amount of stress. I recently had my hours cut at my job, so I have been searching for a new job. I just started a new this week and quit the old job. Along with the job stress, I am also working on my PhD and am teaching piano lessons part-time. I have had feelings of being overwhelmed, am extremely irritable, and have had a large increase in migraine headaches. I also have had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I haven't had a full night's sleep in several weeks. I also have intermittent feelings of being hopeless and unable to control my situation. I have also had what I think was a panic attack, where I had to remove myself from a room because there was too much stimulation and I became shaky and couldn't function. What I am wondering is if I need to do anything about the symptoms or if they will resolve as my life situation, hopefully, starts to calm down.

Brief Answer:
You can try relaxation exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

I think, you should try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. That would help you to stay calm or relax in this tense situation. You can also try some low dose antidepressant like paroxetine with benzodiazepine for few months. That would help to get sound sleep and avoid hopelessness or negative thoughts. These drugs would help to handle the situation in better way. You can also consult a psychiatrist for proper management plan.

In case, you need further help, you can ask.
