Suggest Treatment For Advanced Facet Arthropathy

Question: I have advanced facet arthropathy and diffuse annular bulge combined to cause central canal stenosis. This is at L3-4 and moderate facet arthropathy and ligamentum flavin hyper trophy at L4-5. Been having major sciatic problem in right leg...just need basic explanation on what all this means would surgery be required?

These changes denote degenerative as well as pathological changes. The end consequence is that they occupy the space meant for the spinal cord and nerves to sit in provoking nerve symptoms in the form of pain, muscle weakness, etc.

Surgery is the last option and that if your symptoms are so severe such as significant pain, muscle weakness and atrophy, etc. If these happen, then surgery would be considered. Otherwise, pain medications and physical exercises are preferred.
